On 'Tithe' (2)

Tell me why the Sabha Secretary (must be under instructions from the Metropolitan or the Suffragan)
was targeting only a negligible amount of Rs. 40 lakhs of rupees in 'Tithe Collection' a week ago?
I would assume the mean annual income of a Mar Thoma family is Rs. 2 lakhs (at the lowest minimum).
The officials claim there are 15 lakhs of Marthomites in the world (A WORLD RELIGION!) which may translate
into 4 lakhs of households. According to simple arithmetic calculations, that will add up to a total income of Rs. 80,000,000,000 (WOWWW) for the member- families. And the tithe would be its 10% which is 8,000,000,000.
(ie. an astounding Rs. 800 crores: Folks, sorry if my calculation went wrong!).
ie., again, 800 CRORES in TITHE!!! BE HAPPY!!!
So, why are they satisfied with the collection of just a palsy amount of Rs. 40 lakhs?
The plan is to cheat yet another bishop with just an ordinary 'E Class Benz' ?
Don't be silly, let him also travel in a 'S class Mercedes' or lets buy a helicopter
or even a custom- built Boeing for each of the bishops and a few high-ranking clergy!!!
Let SOULS AND SPIRITS FLY HIGH!!!

Atho, mar thoma karum "pancha paandavanmaaru kattilkalu pole moonnu" aano?

Thanks.

On 'Tithe'

Many of those who were raised in the Mar Thoma tradition may identify their religion as Christian because it is the religion of their families- the faith with which they are most familiar- but they don’t necessarily practice the so-called organized religion. There may also be a significant number of nonbelievers- or lapsed ones- among the adult population that identifies as Mar Thoma Christians. The percent of non-affiliation is particularly high among younger Christians; one-in-four aged 18-29 would say that they are not affiliated with any particular religion.
With a growing number of young people claiming no attachment to organized religions, the religious landscape will continue diversifying or extinct, whether the money- mongering Mar Thoma Bishops want it or not.
And, of course, NOT many Marthomites are going to offer 'tithe' to the church per the request of their clergy and bishops since tithe could be given to anyone, anywhere: not essentially to the church/ parish/ priests or bishops who are squandering money- it is best if given directly to the needy, sick and starving.
Thanks.

Philip Dallyachan THE CHURCH IS PRACTISING SITUATION ETHICS TO EVERY ONE AND TO EVERYBODY .'C.OMPROMISING: COPROMISING ATTITUDE IS THE MASK OF THE CHURCH. THE CHURCH IS BAPTISING EVERY EVIL AND TRADING ONTHE MERCY OF GOD ,PLYAING THE SANCTIMONIUS PART. PRECHING ONE THING.AND OPENLY PRCTISING ANOTHER WHAT IS THE SOLUTION,THE ONLY WAY IS```LET GOD,`` IF IT IS HIS WILL,``.SPEAK THROUGH EVENTS.

Prof. Alex Odikandathil Ph.D. I put the above post up after listening to the Metropolitan's "Kalpana" to give tithe to the church and in response to the Sabha Scecretary's action of sending envelopes (covers) to church members' homes through their respective parishes asking to enclose tithe and return the money on Sunday, 06/07/2014. They are expecting to collect 40 LAKHS of rupees in this way. FOR WHAT, they need to justify. From the Biblical verse quoted on the envelope (Malachi 3:10), one can surmise that this church isn't the brightest light in the harbor as it has never been a custodian of blessings.
Thanks.

This tantamounts to Genocide:

Besides country mechanisms wherein human rights situations are examined and monitored, its the duty of The Commission on Human Rights to monitor and report on major phenomena of human rights violations worldwide (known as thematic mandates). Which other situation in the entire world is direr at the given moment than the Mullapperiyar issue wherein a good part of the state with many lives will be washed away and until that happens, those people will have to expend their lives in perpetual fear? Just like a whole lot of people sentenced to capital punishment with the clock ticking; yet unaware of the date or time.

The Human Rights division of the U.N. is also expected to uphold and protect the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. "To the rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights one more might, with relevance, be added. It is 'The Right to Refuse to Kill.' ", declared Sean MacBride, Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate (1974).

Can we, as a state avow it and refuse the Supreme Court's verdict to increase the water-level is the question I want to raise for I think it is court-sponsored holocaust - the only difference is murder by water and not fire or gas chamber.

Mullapperiyar, another extermination camp and the Supreme Court, yet another Einsatzgruppen?

Thanks.

Mar Thoma Super- highway for Mercedes only...

The luxury cars bought recently by Joseph Mar Thoma and Theophilus Suffragan and Geevarghese Mar Athanasius amounting to crores may prompt one to declare that science is not looking for martyrs and that if it ever needs one, there are plenty. Top in the list is Galileo, who was put under house-arrest and forced to recant his claim that the earth revolved around the sun.

While he may not have been killed for his belief, it is very damning that the church would ruin someone’s life for something we know is so obvious today and that does nothing to threaten religious belief, only doctrine.

We now also know that the Christmas holidays celebrated by a couple billion Christians is really a camouflaged take-over of Saturnalia, a week long period of lawlessness celebrated between December 17-25, (the High Holy Day) when ancient Romans celebrated Saturn, the god of agriculture.

Hence the Big Question: what's the point in following this religion where its new leaders are squandering money got from true but ignorant believers?

Thanks.

Our mind-set needs reset

In India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, (1) a bio-data is essentially a resume besides physical attributes and a photo. (2) A resume includes work and salary history, educational history and job objective. (3) A curriculum vitae is a list of one's professional and educational history and tends to focus on one area of expertise. It's commonly used by authors, researchers, speakers, professors and other experts in a particular field. All these instruments are written with an objective to present oneself better than he really is. A well- constructed bio-data/ resume/ CV will decide the marketability of an applicant for a particular job: how best he can sell himself to the highest bidder. It is quite common among western job- seekers to have different resumes in their portfolio so that they can give the most suitable to a prospective employer on demand. It is then in the best interests of the employer to investigate about the truth of what is projected, to decide to hire or not and to terminate if found unqualified to do the job after hiring. Why do I say all this? Just to ask what is the BIG crime that Mr AG George, the VC of Gandhi university has committed and to emphasize that If he has the required basic educational qualification and/ or experience and is capable of running the show, its a moot point to discuss about his appointment any further. Thank you.

Magical Realist Departs

The renowned Colombian Nobel Laureate who found his own place in world literature by unleashing a worldwide boom in Spanish literature and magical realism- Gabriel Garcia Marquez- passed away this morning at the age of 87. His enchanted readers literally celebrated his "Hundred years of Solitude" and "Love in the Time of Cholera". His autobiography " Living to tell a Tale" was published in 2002.

Honk, Honk, Herpes, Harpies Easter...terrrr...trrrrrr...trrrrrrrrrrrrrr...rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen!
***********************************************************
Nor shall you look for the dead among the living:
-------------------------------------------------------
If you are looking for the Mar Thoma Metropolitan, you may not find him among the living as he has taken his NEW 1.5 crore Mercedes for sight-seeing along the 'Rich Avenue'... You may take his 3-year old Mercedes at a reduced price. And that's the way out for you...
***********************************************************
Still sticking around? Searching for Theophilus Suffragan? He too is out on a pleasure trip in his Brand New 60 Lakh priced luxury car. So, get lost.
***********************************************************
But you may come back to get blessed next year around this time... I mean Easter... Make sure to "put money in thy purse, though"
Thanks. HAPPY EASTER.

Priest:   “Thanks to everyone for participating in this year’s Easter Pageant. All right, kids, we need to rehearse the part where it’s Easter morning and when the first visitors arrive at Jesus’ tomb. Now who’s on this scene?”

Child 1: “I am! Matthew 2
8:2-5 says an angel came down from heaven to greet them.”

Child 2: “No, it wasn’t an angel! It was a ‘Young man,’ Just look at Mark 16:5!”

Child 3: “Hello! Luke 24:4 says very clearly it was ‘Two men."

Child 4: “Well, according to John 20:1-2, nobody was there.”

Priest: “Children, the contradictions don’t matter! What matters is that we unquestioningly accept the magic of the resurrection even within the face of such glaring contradictions within the story.”

Child 4: “Father, that is the most wonderfully concise summary of Christianity I have ever heard.”

Priest:“Thank you, child. It is that kind of blind submission to authority that got me where I am today".
